Cookie policy
AXI-VR only sets the cookies it needs to run: keeping you signed in, protecting forms and keeping accounts secure. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, and nothing here follows you around other sites.

What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep, so the next page you open knows something the last one learned, like the fact that you are signed in.
Keeping the site working
Keep you signed in, prove that a form you submit came from this site, carry a one-line message such as "Team created" from one page to the next, and remember that you closed the cookie notice. Signing in with Discord adds two short-lived ones that make sure Discord's answer is the one you asked for.
How long: From a few minutes to the end of your browser session for most. Staying signed in lasts up to 14 days if you choose "Keep me signed in" or use Discord, and the notice is remembered for a year.
Keeping accounts secure
A random token for your browser, used for one thing: spotting one person running several accounts or coming back after a ban. It is never shared and never used for advertising.
How long: Ten years, so it can still do that job.
Payments
Only on the checkout page, and only if you buy something. Stripe's payment form sets these to catch card fraud. Because the form loads inside our page, they are stored under axivr.com.
How long: Up to a year.
Staff tools
Only for league and platform staff: whether staff view is on, and whether you are previewing the site as a lower role.
How long: Until you close your browser or switch back.
A device check at sign-in
When you sign in, the page also works out a short code from your browser's settings and stores a hash of it with your account. It is used for the same single purpose as the security token above. It is not a cookie and nothing extra is kept on your device, but it does read information from your browser, so it belongs on this page.
Other companies
Stripe handles card payments on the checkout page. What it does with its cookies follows Stripe's cookie policy.
YouTube plays match replays. The player does not load when you open a page: it loads when you press play, and from then on Google's rules apply to that player. Replay thumbnails are served by us, so nothing reaches Google before you press play.
Discord is where you go if you sign in with Discord. While you are on discord.com, Discord's policies apply, not ours.
Why there is no consent box
Every cookie we set is strictly necessary for the site to work or to keep accounts secure, so the law does not require consent before setting them. We tell you about them instead, which is what this page and the notice at the bottom of the screen are for. If we ever add a cookie that is not necessary, such as analytics, you will be asked first and you will be able to say no.
Turning cookies off
You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block these ones, you will not be able to sign in or submit forms, because those are exactly the jobs they do.
